Delta In2ition Showerheads: How They Work And How To Install Them
Your shower is more than a relaxation retreat. It’s part of your daily life, where you get kids ready for bed, bathe pets and even handle chores. You want a space that’s adaptable to your daily needs, and that means considering your showerhead design.
A stationary, wall-mounted showerhead can make functional tasks difficult. However, with a 2-in-1 handheld option like Delta’s In2itionⓇ detachable showerhead, you can take care of multiple tasks easily. Consider the value and convenience of this versatile showerhead.
How the Delta In2ition 2-in-1 Showerhead Works
Delta’s In2ition showerheads contain a handheld and a traditional showerhead within the same fixture. The handshower nests within the wall-mounted unit, allowing you to use it as a traditional, stand-up shower whenever you want.
The true versatility of the In2ition showerhead comes from detaching the handshower from the wall-mount. A simple pull unlocks adaptable functions that make self-care and everyday life easier.
-
The handshower makes bathing and rinsing more comfortable and accessible, whether you have mobility needs or just want a sit-down shower.
-
Rinse off children in the tub without sticking their heads under faucets, pouring cups of water or splashing water from the tap on them.
-
Water household plants without worrying about carpet spills or overflowing planters.
-
Wash large objects like storage bins or pots and pans that won’t fit in the kitchen sink or dishwasher.

In2ition’s Three Water Flow Settings
In2ition showerheads also eliminate worries about water flow and pressure that may accompany other 2-in-1 models. All it takes is a quick adjustment of the diverter knob for three convenient options:
-
Showerhead only: Water streams from the fixed outer ring of the wall-mount showerhead for a traditional rinse.
-
Handshower only: The detachable center unit delivers a focused stream via the flexible hose. Leave it attached to the wall-mount for a narrower stream when showering while standing. Or, detach it for easy rinsing regardless of whether you sit or stand.
-
Dual-head use: Water flows from the fixed showerhead and the handheld shower simultaneously. You’ll get maximum coverage, warmth and consistent pressure, features that many other dual-head systems lack.
In2ition models also have pause functions that reduce flow to both showerheads while you attend to other tasks, like washing your hair. It’s a perfect way to save water without constantly readjusting the water.
Why Delta In2ition Showerheads Make Home Improvement Easy
Every part of the Delta In2ition showerhead is designed for your convenience, including installation. Unlike many dual showerheads, In2ition models only need one water line, and you won’t have to renovate or replace your existing lines before installation. Setting up your product usually requires minimal tools and isn’t much more difficult than unscrewing your old showerhead and screwing on the new one.
How to Install a Delta In2ition Showerhead
To install your new Delta In2ition showerhead, follow the steps below. Check your user guide for more specific instructions.
-
Cut the water supply: Turn off the water supply using the shower’s shut-off valves. If these are hard to access, cut the water off from the water main.
-
Remove the old showerhead: Use a wrench or pliers to unscrew and remove your old showerhead. If it has been there a long time, you might need to use lubrication. Cover the showerhead with a cloth to protect the finish as you unscrew it.
-
Tape the threads: Apply plumber's tape (Teflon tape) clockwise around the threads (the spiral ridges) of your existing shower arm. This helps create a watertight seal when you screw on the new showerhead. Don't cover the first threading ridge closest to the pipe opening, as this could block the pipe.
-
Attach the In2ition unit: Hand-tighten the main wall-mount unit onto the shower arm. You might need a wrench to tighten it over the plumber’s tape. Put a cloth between the tool and the showerhead to protect the finish.
-
Connect the handshower hose: Attach the flexible hose to the mounted shower and the handheld sprayer. Hand-tighten all connections. Some hoses may come with washers to help create a seal.
-
Dock the handheld shower: Secure the handheld sprayer back into the main showerhead. Many models use a powerful magnet to snap them into place. Check the balance of the handheld sprayer within the wall-mount unit.
With that, your new 2-in-1 In2ition showerhead is ready to deliver years of convenience and spa-like serenity. And don’t worry about cleanup, either. With In2ition’s touch-clean nozzles and durable finishes, removing hard water stains, soap scum and other inconvenient buildup is a breeze.
